Hi guys, and welcome back to the channel. Today, we find ourselves in a very different setting, but the information I want to share is about a government portal that will guide you to develop your skills. This portal offers courses from highly reputed companies for free.

Introducing Swayam Plus

So, the name of this portal is Swayam Plus. Perhaps you have seen a video on this channel before where I talked about 100+ free courses. Many of these courses were being offered by professors from IITs and IIMs. Now, the government has launched a portal called Swayam Plus, where not only educational institutes but also top companies will offer courses for free. Among these companies are reputed ones like Microsoft.

Signing In

Let me show you an example of who their partners are. I am going to their homepage. Here, there is an option for signing in. I will sign in here. For those who have already created an account on Swayam, there is no need to sign in again. They can directly register through the Swayam portal, just like I will select Google and choose the same email ID with which I registered on Swayam. If you haven’t registered yet, you can register directly as well.

Exploring Partner Companies

Now that I have signed in, if you scroll down here, you will see a section called “Our Partners.” If you check, you’ll find the names of many reputed companies such as Cisco, The Job Plus, Lanquill, L&T, Microsoft, Salesforce, and Tech Mahindra. In fact, they will have tie-ups with many educational institutes that will appear on this particular website.

Accessing Free Courses

Let me show you once how you can access free courses from here. Here, you will see the option for “Students” at the top. Choose “Courses” here. When you scroll down, you will find all the courses listed here. On the left side, if you check the filters, they have divided them based on domains. For example, if you are interested in banking, finance, insurance, engineering, healthcare, or any other domain. As I am interested in media, communication, and soft skills, I could click here.

You can also choose based on partners. If we want to see only Microsoft’s courses, we would click on Microsoft. Then, you can select the type of course, whether you want to do a long-term or short-term course. Leaving that aside, let’s move on to the content type. On the content type, you can select “free” so that we only get free courses. After that, we will filter it. Now, the courses that you see here will all be free courses offered by Microsoft. For example, AI Engineer.

Course Details and Certificates

In this, it is even provided that if you want to take Microsoft’s data analyst course, it will mention the total hours required to complete. It specifies the type of course, and it indicates in which language the course is being offered. I found the best thing about it is that it is being offered by Indians. This means that the course instructor or tutor will be Indian, making it very easy for you to understand. Not only are all the videos in English, but it also offers vernacular languages. For example, some are in Bengali, and there are courses available in various other languages.

It will be helpful if you are from that particular region. Irrespective, for each course, you will find subtitles at the bottom in English, so that will also assist you. For many of these courses, you’ll receive a certificate. Let me give you an example of the Microsoft course. If you click on “Enroll Now” for the Data Analyst course, it will redirect you to the specific website where this course is being offered. This is Microsoft’s website.

Examples of Partner Courses

I will give you another example to explain. As shown, it is indicating the Data Analyst career path, where you can pursue it. Here, you will find the details of the course, the certification it offers, the complete module, and all the details will be available here. You also need to sign in again here on the website to which you are redirected for any course. Once you complete the entire course, you will receive a certificate.

Let me show you another example. Now, leaving Microsoft aside, we applied the filter for only free courses and cleared all the other filters. I want to show you an example of how it displays the certificate. For instance, let me show you the example of TCS. You can see the course “Accounting Fundamentals.” When you click on it, you will find complete details that it is a 1.5-hour course, and it offers a micro-credential.

When you click on “Start Learning” here, it will take you to TCS’s website again. Inside it, you will find a “Subscribe” button because this is a free course. You will need to click on “Subscribe,” and as I mentioned before, you will have to sign in again. However, it is showing you below what type of certificate you will receive, and it will display the company’s name. You will find the mention that you have completed the entire course and below, you will even receive a specific ID for your certificate. So, you can share it on LinkedIn as well. You can share it on any social media platform.

Conclusion

There is no need to pay to register on this website. There are both free and paid courses, but I have counted the free ones. Currently, there are a total of 64 available courses. All these are being offered by different organizations. However, the government has mentioned on its official website, on the Ministry of Education page, that in the coming days, they will invite more partners. For example, on the homepage, there is a mention of Cisco and Salesforce among their partners, but currently, there are no courses available. In this way, more courses will keep coming.
