Careers With The BEST Work Life Balance!

People around the world are starting to realize that it isn’t just about the money. A lot of the time, the reason that we want to make good money is so that we can live a certain lifestyle. Then, the reason we want to live that lifestyle is because we think it’s going to make us happy. But sometimes, in the pursuit of happiness and making money, we end up burning ourselves out to the point where we aren’t happy at all.

The Importance of Work-Life Balance

We end up in a situation where we are less happy than before we started trying to get to that lifestyle. So, a lot of people around the world are starting to put more and more value on work-life balance. While we’re pursuing our professional goals, we also want to enjoy our lives. Everybody’s different, and this is going to be more important for some people rather than others.

Careers with Excellent Work-Life Balance

Today, I’m going to give you a list of careers that have excellent work-life balance. Some of these careers I have never mentioned before on the channel. All I ask in return is that you uppercut that like button like Mike Tyson. Alright, let’s get into it with the very first one on the list, which is going to be government jobs.

Government Jobs

I wanted to start the list off with government jobs. This is very general, as there are a lot of different government jobs out there. Most people who have either worked with the government, contracted with them, or interned with them know exactly what I’m talking about. Government jobs are known for being super chill. I’ve done internships with government agencies, and a lot of the time, the people will do like one hour of work per day. The rest of the eight hours, they’re on Facebook, reading articles, getting errands done, paying bills, etc. Of course, there are always going to be exceptions, but for the most part, government jobs tend to be very chill and have really good work-life balance. They also tend to have good benefits, and the pay is really good as well. So yeah, government jobs are really chill and a good one to look into.

Real Estate Agent

The next one on the list is going to be for a particular type of person, and that is an extrovert. If you like to talk to other people all the time and want to be social all the time, this is a great career for you. That is a real estate agent. Real estate agents facilitate the buying and selling of houses. If you look up real estate agents on Glassdoor, you’ll see they make about $136,000 a year. At the entry level, there are about 35,000 results on LinkedIn.

The reason this one has really good work-life balance for somebody that’s extroverted is because part of the job of being a real estate agent is being really well known in your community. The best real estate agents are typically very well known, social, and outgoing. They talk to people all the time in their community. So, if you’re the type of person that would be doing that anyway, you might as well become a real estate agent. However, if you’re an introvert, this might not have as good of a work-life balance. It is pretty intense and requires quite a bit of work.

Statistician

Next on the list is going to be a statistician. For some reason, I have a lot of trouble saying that word, but yeah, it’s somebody who does statistics for a living. They make about $99,000 a year on average, and on LinkedIn at the entry level, there are about 14,000 jobs. This is another one that is relatively chill and has pretty good work-life balance. It can be a little hard to get your first job, but once you get your foot in the door and have a few years of experience, you’re pretty much set for life.

Web Developer

Next on the list is going to be a web developer. This is sort of like software developer lite, probably the easiest type of software development that you can learn. Obviously, it’s going to be doing the coding behind websites. Web developers make around $107,000 a year, and according to LinkedIn, there are about 128,000 web development jobs at the entry level. This one is relatively chill. A lot of jobs in the technology industry are on this list. Technology is number one in just about every category out there, including work-life balance. The technology industry is just totally OP. It’s incredible when it comes to pay, work-life balance, job satisfaction, and just about anything that you look at. It’s either number one, or at worst, it’s like number two or number three.

Financial Advisor

Next on the list is going to be in the finance industry, and that is going to be a financial advisor. This is somebody who advises people on what they should do with their finances. You might advise people to put their money in an index fund or a mutual fund, or maybe you advise someone to invest in real estate. According to Glassdoor, financial advisors make about $105,000 a year, and at the entry level, there are about 35,000 financial advisor jobs. This one is kind of like real estate as well, where you’re interacting with people and are known in the community. A good way to get a lot of business is to do a really good job with one person, and then they tell all their friends that you did a great job.

Recruiter

Next on the list is going to be a recruiter. This is somebody who recruits people to fill positions for companies. If you are able to fill that position, you typically get some sort of compensation, and sometimes recruiters can make like ten thousand dollars for filling a position. This can be very lucrative if you’re good at it. However, according to Glassdoor, recruiters make about $76,000 a year. You can make a lot more or a lot less depending on the industry that you’re in. LinkedIn has 206,000 results for recruiters at the entry level, so there’s a lot of demand for this career. It’s a job that has a lot of work-life balance. There’s not somebody breathing over your shoulder all the time. You have a lot of initiative and can do what you think is best.

Software Developer

A Shane Hummus video would not be complete without mentioning software developers, probably the most OP career out there. They make $109,000 a year, and there are 175,000 jobs at the entry level. It is difficult to learn and somewhat saturated at the entry level because it’s so good and so many people know that it’s good at this point. You really do have to know your stuff in order to get a job.

Information Technology

Next on the list is going to be information technology. This one is not a career but a cluster of different careers. You typically start off in a help desk role, but in general, information technology makes about $82,000 a year. If you type in information technology at the entry level on LinkedIn, you’ll see 181,000 results. This one has very good work-life balance. I have friends in information technology, and a lot of them will work like one or two hours a day and then are done for the day. Of course, not all jobs are like that, but many are.

Cyber Security

Another one that’s very similar to information technology and has similar work-life balance is going to be cyber security. Cyber security helps companies protect their data, which is more valuable than oil or gold. On average, cyber security professionals make about $96,000 a year. There are 59,000 jobs at the entry level, making it a really good one to consider.

Data Analyst

Speaking of data, the next one is going to be a data analyst. Data analysts are the ones analyzing the data that cyber security professionals protect. Data analysts make about $95,000 a year, and there are 242,000 entry-level jobs on LinkedIn. Data analysts also have great work-life balance. It’s another career where you work, but you don’t have someone breathing down your neck with crazy deadlines. It is relatively chill.

Owning Your Own Business

Next on the list is owning your own business. This one has a caveat. Owning your own business can be incredibly frustrating and stressful at times. However, the great thing about owning your own business is that you decide when to take time off. I own my own business, and if I want to go on a vacation, I can decide without asking anyone. So, while I work long hours and work hard, I choose when I work and when I don’t. In that way, it does have really good work-life balance.

Digital Marketer

Next on the list is digital marketing, which might have the best work-life balance out of all the careers listed. Digital marketers are like wizards to business owners. Business owners don’t know how digital marketing works; they just know that digital marketers bring in leads and customers, translating to money. Whether you spend an hour a day or eight hours a day monitoring your ad spend, they don’t care as long as you’re bringing in customers and money. Digital marketing has great work-life balance. If you want a super chill career, you can have that. If you want to work hard and get lots of promotions, you can do that too. Digital marketers make about $84,000 a year, and there are 105,000 entry-level results on LinkedIn.

I’ve interviewed many people on this channel who have gotten jobs in digital marketing, and they reveal how they did it. It’s all through a course owned by my friend Seth, who gets amazing results from this course.
